I have some sad news to share. Former WCADP board member Sister Joan Campbell died on Sunday November 4th. Joan was an educator, a prison chaplain, and a long time advocate for abolishing the death penalty.
This past July Sister Joan attended the Annual Fast & Vigil to Abolish the Death Penalty in front of the Supreme Court in Washington DC. Caritas published a feature about her, and I'd asked for (and received) permission to share it with all of you. I hadn't anticipated I'd be sharing it in this context.
"I know that I won't see the fulfillment of this in the fullness of criminal justice reform in my lifetime, but it is a blessing to be a part of its beginnings." -Sister Joan Campbell quoted in CARITAS Fall 2018
As a membership organization, we need your financial support to safeguard the end of the death penalty in Washington.
A donation of any amount makes you an official member of WCADP for a year!
